FAQ's
Yes. And that gap should be up to 1.5cm, depending on where the HeelSnaps® settle on your foot. The product has been designed to NOT rub against the back of your foot. HeelSnaps®should fit snugly on your feet, but do expect them to shift over time, and have to readjust every now and then, much like a pair of slides.
In order to develop HeelSnaps®, we analyzed data from over 35000 foot scans and based our modeling on that analysis. We are launching with sizes 2, 3 and 4 (sizes 1 and 5 coming soon).
Finding the best fit for your HeelSnaps® is best done by following these two easy steps: First, look up your size in the following chart (sizing is not directly related to shoe sizing, but it is a good guide). Next, in order to confirm your size, place your bare foot on a sheet of paper, and draw a mark on each side of the widest section of your heel. Now measure the distance between the two marks, and refer to Chart #2. (Please note that this distance should be slightly wider than the actual width of your heel).
I would not walk a marathon the first day with them! Just like with any new pair of footwear, you need to get used to them. HeelSnaps® is a new product, and will definitely feel new. And different. so try them for about half an hour the first day, and double the amount of time every day, until you are used to them after approximately one week.

Unless the heel counters are very flexible, the answer is no. Most athletic shoes have stiff heel counters, so there is no need for this product. HeelSnaps® is most useful for barefoot and sandal/slides/flip-flop use.
This device is revolutionary! HeelSnaps® is patent-pending with the US and Canadian Patent Offices. It is the only strapless product that directly targets the subtalar joint.
Shin splints may occur when the foot overpronates, causing traction on the tibialis anterior/posterior tendons and strain on the tibialis anterior/posterior muscles (the muscles in the front of lower leg). This causes a “tearing” sensation in the front of the lower leg e.g. especially when walking quickly in flip-flops.
HeelSnaps® is the only strapless product that can be used with sandals, flip-flops, and bare feet to address these biomechanical issues associated with shin splints.
